Jens Martin Lekman, born on February 6, 1981, in Angered, Gothenburg, Sweden, is
a Swedish musician and songwriter. At age fourteen, Lekman began writing songs
after joining his friend's cover band as a bassist. He adopted the pseudonym
Rocky Dennis and released limited edition CD-R discs starting with The Budgie in
2001. In 2003, Lekman self-released the EP Maple Leaves, which gained
significant attention through Swedish national radio and file-sharing platforms.
This led to a contract with Secretly Canadian for releases outside Sweden. His
