Led by singer and actor Kohei Otomo, Japanese rockers Hound Dog formed in 1976
in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The group originated when Yoshihide Takahashi, a
guitarist and founding member, invited Otomo to form the band while they were
both attending Tohoku Gakuin University. The name Hound Dog was adopted from an
Elvis Presley hit song that Otomo admired. In 1980, the band made its official
debut with the single "Storm's Friday". Despite numerous lineup changes and
