Hotdog, a Filipino band formed in 1972, originated from Manila and consisted of
brothers Dennis Garcia and Rene Garcia. The group's initial breakthrough came
with their debut album Unang Kagat released in 1974 by Villar Records, which led
to the 1975 movie of the same name starring the band. Hotdog was also credited
for pioneering the "Manila Sound," a genre that revitalized Filipino music
