Hiroko Kokubu, born as 国府 弘子 on August 26, 1959 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, is a
Japanese jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. She began her musical journey
with classical piano training at the Kunitachi College of Music, focusing on
Chopin and Ravel before transitioning to jazz. In the mid-1980s, Kokubu
performed at the New York Women's Jazz Festival with Carol Sudhalter's quartet.
Throughout her career, she has released numerous albums, including
collaborations such as Bridge (1997) featuring Alex Acuña and Ramon Stagnaro.
