Helrunar
Helrunar, a German metal band from Münster/Osnabrück, was formed in spring 2001.
The band's name is derived from Jan Fries' book Helrunar: Ein Handbuch der
Runenmagie, meaning "Those who whisper with Hel." In 2003, they released their
first demo, Grátr. In summer 2004, Helrunar signed their first record deal with
Prophecy Productions. Their debut album, Frostnacht, was released in December
2005. The band's second album, Baldr ok Íss, followed in October 2007. In March
2008, guitarist Tim "Dionysos" Funke left the band, leading to a hiatus from
