Heiko & Maiko
Heiko Maier, and Maik Karthäuser, formed the German electronic duo Heiko & Maiko
in 1996 while working as DJs; both had early experience as radio hosts on MDR
Sputnik, later presenting Der Club and Flirt am Freitag on MDR Jump, which
earned them the German DJ Award for Best Radio Show in 2003. Their breakthrough
came with the 2005 single "Glücklich", which peaked at Number Fifty‑five on the
Media Control charts, followed by "Sonnenschein" reaching Number Seventy‑six;
