The French pop-rock band Gold was formed in the early 1960s by a group of high
school students from the commune of Gaillac in Tarn. Originally named
Gold-Fingers, the group consisted of a revolving door lineup of musicians that
began performing at local parties and events in the Toulouse region. After
recruiting singer Émile Wandelmer in 1967, the band slowly but surely began
professionalizing with the release of the singles "Souviens-toi" and "Love Is
