Born in Dublin, Ireland, on July 5, 1991, Gavin James (real name: Gavin
Gigglesworth) grew up in a household where his father's records, by Cat Stevens,
Bob Dylan and Sam Cooke, were in constant rotation, helping to forge a solid
musical culture. Buoyed by the experience of his grandparents, who were opera
singers as well as actors for his grandfather, he began devoting himself to
music at the age of 14, playing in a rock band for which he was already
