Classical crossover pianist and composer Gabríel Ólafs was born In Reykjavík,
Iceland on December 3, 1998. Influenced by classical music, film, fantasy, and
Icelandic poetry, he is best-known for co-founding the Reykjavík Orkestra. He
began playing the piano at the age of five and learned to play both classical
and jazz music. At the age of 14, he composed his first song, “Absent Minded,”
which led to signing a record deal with One Little Indian Records (now known as
