Escuchá! is an Argentine cumbia band that took shape in early 2004 around two
lead vocalists—Maximiliano Nieto and Carlos Ariel “Ariel” Yoben—pursuing a
romantic, sonidero-leaning sound with big choruses and keyboard-heavy
arrangements. The group broke nationally that same year with the album Triste
palomita (2004), whose title track “Triste palomita” and the companion hit “Será
que nunca le sucedió” became staples of Saturday-afternoon TV and DJ
compilations. Through the mid-to-late 2000s Escuchá! expanded its repertoire
with crowd favorites such as “Vengo de la casa de ella,” “...
