Born Eric Benét Jordan in Mobile, Alabama, on October 15, 1996, American R&B
singer Eric Benét belongs to a musical family that includes his sister Lisa
Benét and cousin George Nash Jr. After growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he
began his musical career in the late 1980s with a group called Gerard, before
teaming up with his sister and cousin to form the Benét trio, whose first album
was a success in 1992. After this successful venture, Eric Benét went solo,
signing with Warner Bros. to produce his debut album True to Myself (1996),
followed by the gold disc A Day in the Life (...
