champeta singer from Isla Fuerte, Bolívar, known for his distinct voice and
infectious rhythms that brought champeta to wider audiences. Raised in a humble
household as the fourth of ten siblings, he finished only secondary school but
found his calling in music through a friend who recognized his talent and
