DUSTZ was formed in Japan in 2005 by Ray Fujita, a Franco‑Japanese actor and
frontman, alongside members Ray, GUS, and KenT, who had met at the
Franco‑Japanese School in Tokyo. The group began performing in 2007 after
recruiting drummer Naoki Kawano, marking the official birth of the band. Their
early releases on the independent label Be On Key Records included the singles
"Future" (2008) and "Lapis Lazuli" (2009), which helped establish a local
