Down Below was formed in 2003 in Dessau‑Roßlau, Germany, by musicians formerly
of Cryptic Carnage and Turn. Their debut studio album, Silent Wings: Eternity,
was released on 10 May 2004 under Rabazco Records, combining
Egyptian‑mythology‑inspired lyrics with gothic and metal elements. In 2007 the
band signed with Vertigo Records and issued Sinfony²³ on 29 June 2007; the
single "From the Highest Point" that year marked a commercial breakthrough and
