Award-winning country music singer-songwriter Donna Fargo was born Yvonne Vaughn
in Mount Airy, North Carolina on November 10, 1945. She began singing at a young
age but didn’t start pursuing a music career until after she had moved to
Southern California and started a teaching job. In 1966, she changed her stage
name to Donna Fargo by the time she released her second single. She made her
first high profile performance opening for country music icon Ray Price and in
