Dogs Die in Hot Cars was a Scottish rock group formed in St. Andrews, England,
in 1997 by Craig Macintosh (vocals, guitar), Gary Smith (vocals, guitar), Ruth
Quigley (vocals, keyboards), Lee Worrall (bass, glockenspiel) and Laurence Davey
(drums, percussion). The members had met at Madras College in 1993 and began
playing together at age fourteen; they adopted the band name in 1997 after
experimenting with several monikers. Their breakthrough came with the single "I
Love You 'Cause I Have To" released in July 2003 under EMI’s Radiate Records,
