Martin Schmidt, known professionally as DJ Dean, was born on October 25, 1975,
in Germany. He began his career as a DJ and producer in the electronic music
scene, specializing in hard trance and hardstyle genres. DJ Dean gained initial
attention in 1992 with his work in hardcore techno and gabber, notably as a
member of Nordcore GMBH. His breakthrough moment came with an appearance at the
Time Tunnel Rave in 1995, which led to his appointment as a resident DJ at the
