Dennis Bouman, known professionally as Def Rhymz, was a Surinamese-Dutch rapper
born on May 3, 1970 in Paramaribo, Suriname. He became the Netherlands rap
champion in 1986 at sixteen years old and performed under the names Def Rijmen
and Def Rhymz, forming the rap duo Supersonic Cru with DJ Git Hyper. His
breakthrough single “Doekoe” (Sranantongo for money) was released in 1999 and
became a number one hit in the Netherlands. Around that time, Def Rhymz
