De Randfichten are a German folk music group from Johanngeorgenstadt in the Ore
Mountains, founded in 1992 by Thomas "Rups" Unger and Michael "Michl" Rostig. in
1997, Thomas "Lauti" Lauterbach joined the band and they changed their name to
De Randfichten. The band's name refers to trees at the edge of the forest, which
must be particularly hardy due to their exposed location. Their musical style
combines traditional folk tunes from the Erzgebirge with modern elements, which
