David Ryan Harris, born in Evanston, Illinois, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He moved to Atlanta at a young age and began his music career as the frontman for the rock group Follow for Now in the 1980s. The band released their self-titled album Follow for Now in 1991 under Chrysalis Records before disbanding in 1994. Harris then worked with Dionne Farris, contributing to her 1995 album Wild Seed, Wild Flower.
