David Gooden, known professionally as Dave Angel, was born on 13 May 1966 in
Chelsea, London, England, and worked as a DJ and electronic music producer. His
early exposure to jazz through his father and to soul, funk, and techno in
London’s club scene led him to experiment with a borrowed electronic keyboard
and a double‑tape deck, producing the Nightmare mix that reached number 23 on
