Will Brooks, from Newark, New Jersey, is the founding MC and producer of the
American experimental hip‑hop group Dälek. After acquiring an MPC3000 with a
college scholarship, he formed the group with Alap Momin (aka The Oktopus) and
Joshua Booth (guitar, keyboards), releasing the debut Negro Necro Nekros in
1998. Signing to Ipecac Recordings, the band followed with From Filthy Tongue of
Gods and Griots (2002), Absence (2005), and Abandoned Language (2007), gaining
