Curtis Rae Hasselbring, born July 12, 1965 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is an
American jazz trombonist, guitarist and composer. He began playing trombone and
guitar at a young age, studying formally at the New England Conservatory and
graduating in 1988. His early career included collaborations with Charlie
Kohlhase and the Either/Orchestra. Hasselbring earned a master's degree from
Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts (1991-1993), during which he began
working with notable musicians such as Chris Speed, Bobby Previte, Cuong Vu, and
