Current 93, an English experimental music group, was founded in 1982 by David
Tibet. The band's early work was characterized by abrasive tape loops and
droning synthesizer noises, with Tibet's distorted vocals. In the mid-1980s,
their sound evolved into what Tibet termed "apocalyptic folk," blending folk
music with industrial elements. Current 93 released their debut album Dogs Blood
Rising in November 1984, followed by Nature Unveiled. Notable albums include In
