Clan of Xymox
Clan of Xymox originated in Nijmegen, Netherlands, founded in 1981 by Ronny
Moorings and Anke Wolbert. The duo relocated to Amsterdam and released their
self‑produced debut Subsequent Pleasures in 1981, followed by the 1985
self‑titled album Clan of Xymox under 4AD, which included the track "7th Time"
that earned two Peel Sessions in 1985. In 1987 the single "Blind Hearts" marked
the band’s breakthrough, and the 1989 album Twist of Shadows sold 300 000
copies, with singles such as "Obsession" and "Imagination" charting on
