Çekiç Ali, born Ali Ersan in 1932 in Meşeköy, Kırşehir, was a prominent Turkish
bağlama player, singer, and folk musician from the Anatolian region. He is
considered one of the most significant interpreters of Kırşehir's folk songs and
bozlak. His exceptional skill with the saz earned him the nickname "Çekiç,"
meaning "Hammer." A disciple of the legendary Muharrem Ertaş, who also mentored
other notable musicians like Hacı Taşan and Neşet Ertaş, Çekiç Ali developed his
