Cave In was formed in 1995 in Methuen, Massachusetts, by Stephen Brodsky and Jay
Frechette, who began writing songs in Frechette’s parents’ basement. The duo’s
early work surfaced on a self‑titled 7‑inch released through Hydra Head Records
in 1997. Their breakthrough came with the full‑length Until Your Heart Stops
(1998), which established the band within the metalcore scene. In 2003, after
signing with RCA Records, Cave In released Antenna, featuring the single
"Anchor", and performed on the second stage of Lollapalooza. The group returned
