One of Maxime Le Forestier's two older sisters, they made their debut together
in the duo Cat & Maxim. Born on May 5, 1948 to a British father and French
mother, Catherine Le Forestier learned to play the violin and began singing in
1965, accompanied by her brother on guitar. They formed the duo Cat & Maxim, who
recorded the EP Emmène-moi, featuring two songs by Georges Moustaki, and in 1969
"La Petite fugue", inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach's Prelude and Fugue No. 11
