Cassiane is a longtime icon of the gospel and Christian pop communities in Brazil, having released new material at a consistent clip since the early 1980s. Born as Cassiane Santana Santos Macnhães Guimarães on January 27, 1973, she was raised by a devout family in Nova Iguaçu and began singing worship music at three years old. Her debut album, 1981's Cristo é a Força, was recorded and released shortly thereafter, while Cassisane was only eight.
