Care was an English new wave band formed in 1983 in Liverpool, England by
vocalist Paul Simpson and guitarist Ian Broudie. Following the split of the Wild
Swans, Simpson and Broudie came together to form Care. Their first single was
released in June 1983. In October 1983, they achieved their highest chart
position with "Flaming Sword", which reached number 48 on the UK Singles Chart.
The band's other notable releases include "Whatever Possessed You" and "My
