Chinese-Canadian pianist Bruce Liu made his name by winning first prize at the
XVIIIth Warsaw Chopin Competition. Born Xiaoyu Liu in Paris to parents
originally from Beijing on May 8, 1997, he followed his father to Montreal at
the age of six, studying piano at home, then at the conservatory in Richard
Raymond's class and at university with Đặng Thái Sơn. After appearing with the
Cleveland Orchestra at the age of fifteen, the piano prodigy went on to multiply
