Flemish vaudeville and pop artist Modest Schoepen, known professionally as
Bobbejaan Schoepen, was born on 16 May 1925 in Boom, Antwerp, Flanders, Belgium.
He began his career as a singer and performer in the late 1930s, initially
performing vaudeville shows with his sister Liesje Schoepen. His breakthrough
came in 1948 with the release of "De Jodelende Fluiter" ("The Yodelling
Whistler"), which became his first hit. He gained significant popularity in
