Born Abbas Hamad in Paris on May 27, 1987, Bas is a French rapper who has made
his career in the United States. Born into a Sudanese family, he grew up in
France and Qatar, before his parents moved to Jamaica, in the Queens district of
New York. Following the release of two mixtapes, Quarter Water Raised, Vols 1 &
2 in 2011 and 2013, he came to the attention of J. Cole, who signed him to his
