Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, born on April 2, 1902, in Kasur, British India, was an
Indian vocalist from the Kasur Patiala Gharana. He began his vocal music
training at age five under his uncle Kale Khan and later his father Ali Buksh
Khan Kasuri. Khan's career started with compositions by his late father and
uncle, blending elements of Dhrupad, Jaipur, and Gwalior styles into his
distinctive Patiala-Kasur style. In 1960, he made a significant breakthrough in
film music with "Prem Jogan Ban Ke" and "Shubh Din Aayo Raj Dulara" from the
