Ayta Sözeri, born on March 31, 1976, in West Germany, is a Turkish actress,
singer, and dedicated human and LGBT rights activist. Of Circassian descent on
her mother's side, she moved to Izmir with her family in 1982 and underwent
gender reassignment surgery in her twenties. Sözeri graduated from Ege
University with a degree in Business Administration and studied Turkish music at
