The west coast American R&B trio Art n’ Soul began in Oakland, California in
1996 when singer and bass player Sam Bostic, who had been working primarily as a
record producer for west-coast rap artists like 2Pac, joined forces with
keyboardist Rodney Lattrel Evans and drummer Dion Riley. Through an association
with Timothy Christian Riley, one third of the trio Tony! Toni! Toné!, they were
