Arnett Cobb was an acclaimed American jazz saxophonist who performed and recorded with several artists from the 1930s until his death in 1989 aged 70. Born in Houston, Texas, he began playing as a teenager and had stints with bands led by Frank Davis, Chester Boone and Milt Larkin. He played in Lional Hampton's band and also in groups led by Jimmy Heath and Joe Henderson. His solo recordings include 'Arnett Blows for 1300' (1947), 'Party Time' (1959), 'Movin' Right Along' (1960), 'Arnett Cobb is Back' (1978), 'Funky Butt' (1981), 'Keep on Pushin' (1984), and 'Tenor Tribute Vols.1...
