Dutch composer, multi-instrumentalist (guitars, keyboards) and singer, Arjen Anthony Lucassen is the founder or member of numerous metal bands. Born in Hilversum on April 3, 1960, he began his career with the band Bodine in 1980, before joining Vengeance four years later, for eight years. In 1994, he unveiled his first solo album, Pools of Sorrow ~Waves of Joy, showing his musical eclecticism between acoustic and electric rock, hard rock, funk, country, psychedelic and even medieval influences.
