The Japanese alternative rock band Aobozu was formed in 1999 in Odawara,
Kanagawa. Originally known as "The Blue Boss," the group featured a founding
lineup of frontman Hozzy, drummer Kamei and bassist Shinichi Fujimori, all three
of whom met as children in Odawara. The musicians adopted a new name, Aobozu, in
2000, then added guitar player Yūichi Tanaka to the roster one year later.
Aobozu, the group's self-titled debut album, was independently released via
Buddy Records in 2003, reaching Number 125 on the Oricon chart and paving the
way for the moderately successful singles "Sh...
