An Chi-hwan is a South Korean singer-songwriter and record producer known for
his contributions to folk, pop, rock, and ballad music. Born on November 16,
1965, in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, he studied social work at Yonsei University, where
he joined the school’s central band Ullimtu in 1984 and later the band Dawn in
1986. In 1988, An became a member of the activist folk group Nochatsa (Song
Finders), contributing to their second album Song Finders 2 (1989) with the
songs "At The Vast Field (광야에서)" and "Dried Leaves Revive (마른잎 다시 살아나)" before
