American Head Charge, formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, emerged from early 1990s
metal circles with founding members Cameron Heacock (vocals, 1996–2009,
2011–2017) and Chad Hanks (bass, 1996–2009, 2011–2017). The band’s first
independent release, Trepanation (1999), introduced a blend of industrial and
nu‑metal influences, setting the stage for a major‑label deal. In 2001, American
Head Charge signed with American Recordings and released The War Of Art (August
28, 2001), which sold over 250,000 copies worldwide and earned two Kerrang!
