ALI PROJECT
Ali Project is an avant-garde rock band from Tokyo, Japan, featuring musicians
Arika Takarano and Mikiya Katakura. Blending prog-rock and baroque influences
with vintage clothes inspired by Japan's "street fashion" craze, the band
debuted with 1988's Gensou Teien, which was released under the original band
name "Ant Project." Takarano and Katakura had adopted their new name by the time
Gekka no Ichigun was released four years later. 1994's Dali, 1997's Peony Pink,
1998's Noblerot, 2001's Aristocracy, and 2002's Erotic & Heretic all failed to
