Conductor Ádám Fischer – born in Budapest, Hungary on September 9, 1949 – began
his musical journey by singing in the Budapest National Opera Children's Choir
as a child with his brother Ivan, who also went on to become a classical
conductor. He later studied at the Kodály School in Budapest and then
specialized in piano and conducting at the Bela Bartók Conservatory. On
graduating, he moved to Vienna, Austria where he studied conducting with Hans
